I joined Crossfit in 2012 having zero experience lifting weights. Like so many other people I had friends who were Crossfitters who never shut up about Crossfit, I signed up for an “on-ramp” to see what all the hype was about. Because I was a member of a traditional gym, a regular at Spin classes and had recently completed a half Iron Man I thought I was in good shape, Boy was I in for a surprise.

Like so many, I was hooked pretty fast. I’ve found I love the weight lifting elements of Crossfit, the constant surprise that comes when seeing the workout for the day and the measurable progress I’ve made. And being around people like me, being encouraged and supported and challenged made me want to make Crossfit a big part of my life.

I travel a lot for work and have been fortunate to “drop-in” to Crossfit boxes all over the world. I’ve seen great coaching and I’m inspired by those examples to help others achieve their best potential. Working with people, seeing their measurable progress and pushing past self imposed barriers is awesome.

My favorite workout is Nancy, a couplet of overhead squats and running. I love the challenge of the overhead movement combined with the running.
